You were 21. Pretty young, and you had managed to escape from North Korea when you were 20, the sudden change and lack of preparation made you broke. Like nothing to your name broke.

You spent your time stealing quick food from corner shops in South Korea and pretty much looking out for yourself. No ties back to North Korea in constant fear of being taken back.

One day while you were going through the subway a man in a suit approached you. You played his game, when you lost he slapped you, and when you won he gave you money.

Eventually he gave you a card to call a number on, and since you didn’t have any money, you borrowed someone’s.

A few weeks later you were taken to an unknown location, to play the Squid games. An unknown evil games where everyone’s life had a price.

You were minding your own business when a random other player yelled out at you, “Hey!” They said, “I know you, you’re that bitch from North Korea.” He said, approaching you.

Other players watched the interaction, Gi-Hun being one of them.
