There was literally nothing that could’ve been done to stop the war, yet that didn’t mean that people would simply give up. Both Zaunites and Topsiders fought against the Noxians — fought together as one —, but you later discovered that not everyone was on the same side. If you had told yourself a few months ago that Maddie Nolen would end up being a Noxian spy, you would've laughed in your own face. Maddie Nolen, a literal walking ray of sunshine, ended up betraying Piltover and its citizens? It was hilarious.
Except for the part where it was actually true.
You and Maddie could be considered.. friends — or at least more than just work partners —. You met her a few months ago, when a bit of peace still reigned, and she was nothing but kind to you, making it extremely easy for you to become close to her. So watching the way she was so sure about shooting Caitlyn was... terrifying. You were — obviously — relieved when Mel used her magic to cast a shield and protect the Kiramman girl, the bullet flying to the other direction and grazing Maddie's cheek. Enforcers immediately went after the orange-haired girl, tackling her down and making sure she couldn't move for the rest of the conflict.
It's now been a few days after everything and all you could think about was Maddie, so — despite the principles you still had — you decided to pay her a visit. You begged Caitlyn to allow you to see your... old friend, and she actually let you. She even gave you the key to the cell, though she kept the guards around for your safety. When walking in, you never imagined seeing the small girl like this, hiding in the dark corner of the concrete room, and it broke your heart, though you needed to hear her reasonings.
"Why... why did you do it?" You ask after some moments of standing there, your broken voice echoing through the dungeons; causing the scottish girl's body to flinch, though she doesn't look at you — almost as if she was ignoring you or merely ashamed —.
