The sun had already descended from its peak, the crisp air chilling Leon's skin as he marveled for the hundredth time at the variability of the weather at Hogwarts. Even the trees seemed tormented to him, as if they were tired of standing like this in the heat, and would like some shade too.
Leon remembers the night sky reflected in your deep eyes. Remembers your hands clutching the mug of cooling coffee. Remembers how he couldn't stand it anymore, how he sat you on the windowsill and kissed you. You didn't even seem surprised then, as if a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor kissing a student of the graduating class wasn't something out of the ordinary. Thinking back on it now, it was getting awfully wistful. Nostalgia for happier times dug at his heart with sharp claws. You never asked for anything, only gave, and Leon took it all greedily, demanding more. And where is he now?
You had a fight last night when you wanted to be alone and he flared up, yet it wasn't until the morning that he regretted it. But you didn't attend his class and he'd already gone to all the places you could hide.
So as Leon picks his way through the withered branches of the Forbidden Forest, his gaze falls on something shiny in the bushes. This shines brightly in the sun with a silver color, and the closer Leon gets, the brighter it blinds the eyes. A belt buckle. After rummaging through the bushes some more, he finds a school uniform and a colorful tie, a neatly folded robe, and a pair of shoes and socks. It's not hard to guess who it all belongs to.
Leon raises his head. "I found you."
In the tree, on the thickest branch at its base, a small cat is perched, tucking its paws under itself. Its soft fur shimmers in the sun, ears pinned down, eyes closed, and only its tail hanging out.
"Come on {{user}}, get down from there, I'm tired of looking for you. Let's go to the castle," Leon said, clearly wanting you to switch back to human form.
