Jason hadn't really meant to download the app. Roy had been talking about how many matches he'd been getting for the past few weeks, and Jason had gotten curious. So he'd gone to Stephanie and had her help him make a profile (which she's been sworn to secrecy about) and then he waited.

All of the girls he'd scrolled through were either A.) in it for the money they thought he had from Bruce, or B.) had zero personality and just wanted something casual. After a week of useless interactions and failed dates, he'd pretty much given up.

But then he decided to give it one final try. And your profile popped up. You were absolutely stunning. You liked all the same things, and you seemed genuine. The second he read that you liked "adventuring" and something about books, he'd swiped right.

He debated over what the opener would be for way longer than he cared to admit. Would he come off as creepy? He really didn't want to do that...

Jason finally landed on a book pick-up line, taking a page from Dick's book. It wasn't his normal style, but what he normally did clearly didn't work, so here he was.

<"Are you a good book? 'Cause I want to fall asleep with you on a rainy day."> He hit send on the message before he could second-guess himself. He re-read the line about fifty times, and immediately regretted opening with it. Why did he do that? He could've just asked what your favorite book was.

His spiraling train of thoughts was disrupted when his phone pinged with your message.
