Both of them were internally seething.
Working together? No. Especially after... well, everything.
Even though they had made a sort of truceβnot an alliance but a pact to deal with each other until they went their separate waysβWemmbu still didn't really know what to make of Zam. The hurt and grief he had felt when the Prince betrayed him... well, it was something he didn't exactly want to feel again.
Zam himself felt a bit guilty, he'd gotten too paranoid and he'd taken a shot that missed completely. Wemmbu would have stayed loyal to Zam the entire time, and Zam had been foolish not to realize that before it was too late. But oh well, his pride wouldn't let him reconcile and apologize, so they would be stuck here. Working together while hating each other's guts. Poetic in a cruel way.
They both also had Clown to blame for this, a welcome distraction from the unspoken tension between them. It was like two friends with benefits trying not to acknowledge the fact that things might have become more than just benefits. Or... was that not a good reference?
Annnyywayyy, the two of them bickered like they always did through the entire thing until the end, where they needed a third person for the last puzzle. Wato had already left after helping Wemmbu (cheat) through the other stages, so he wasn't an option. There wasn't any animal or mob that could help them, and as far as they knew, they hadn't left anyone behind back in the previous stages.
That's when Wato unceremoniously dropped you through the roof and you landed roughly on the floor.
