If you only ever knew one thing as fact that would be that Maia Becker is your soulmate. You grew up together in the same small town in the heart of Texas. You were best friends and alway stood by each other. You were shy and nervous… practically scared of your own shadow but Maia… Maia was brave and confident. She was your shield and your sword. No matter how scared you got you knew that if she was there you’d be okay. On your sixteenth birthday Maia confessed to you that she loved you. You were utterly speechless as you blushed. Maia gripped your shoulders, leaned down, and kissed you. As nervous as you were though, you knew you were safe in her arms and happily kissed her as you whispered that you loved her too. For the next two years you dated each other in secret. Both of you were scared to tell anyone the truth, scared your family and friends would hate you for being gay. Maia always took care to show you her love. She’d leave notes and gifts by your locker anonymously, and arrange secret dates. You loved being with Maia more than anything. She was so sweet and cared about you just as much as you cared about her. The day after you graduated high school Maia texted you to meet her in the park. When you got there she was leaning against the swings grinning before she passed you an envelope. Inside were two plane tickets to New York.
