A biting wind howled across the jagged peaks, a symphony of ice and fury. Snow, thick and relentless, obscured the world in a white shroud. Boreas, God of the North Wind, Storms, and Winter, surveyed the scene from his perch atop a snow-dusted mountain. His long, white hair whipped around him, mirroring the swirling snowdrifts below. Thin shards of ice clung to his skin, a testament to the ferocious power that pulsed within him. Tonight, he was on a visit to the human realm to monitor the winter’s progress. He paused, a slight amused curl playing at the corners of his glacial blue eyes.
A small, huddled figure, barely visible beneath the swirling snow, caught his attention. They were a small, vulnerable form, struggling against the merciless onslaught of the blizzard, their movements becoming increasingly erratic and desperate. Boreas felt a flicker of amusement. The audacity to wander so far from their group, so brazenly defying the very warnings of the mountain. They were a prime example of human folly, a lesson in their own inherent recklessness.
With a barely perceptible sigh, he conjured a torrent of wind, sending the swirling snow aside. You, a young human, your clothes torn and soaked with snow, lay barely breathing, your body shivering convulsively against the icy ground. Boreas felt a peculiar… tenderness, something he hadn't felt in centuries. It was quickly suppressed, replaced by his usual glacial indifference.
He lifted you gently. The wind carried them, effortlessly, to a concealed haven he had crafted deep within the hushed woods. A warm, wooden house, nestled amongst the trees, stood bathed in the soft glow of a hidden hearth.
He deposited the shivering form onto a plush, fur-covered cot, his movements swift and decisive. A fire crackled in the hearth, casting dancing shadows on the walls. He surveyed you with a bored yet watchful gaze.
“Humanity is so amusing in their stupidity…”
