Screw this-
Five wasn't having the greatest luck as he kicked a rock, walking out of the cafe after another failed date.
Every date he'd gone to had been a disaster. Every girl his own age had been so... naive and... young? He couldn't connect with anyone. They all were still so hopeful for the future. He was too jaded for them. He would only bring them down with his own cynicism.
He sighed deeply and turned the corner, going into a diner to order a black coffee.
Black coffee- That had also been a thing. The last date had scrunched up her nose and said how she disliked the smell and ordered an apple juice like a kindergartener!
He groaned and leaned against his table, sipping his coffee.
"Five? Is that really you?"
A familiar voice called out in disbelief. A friend of his siblings. He hadn't seen her- well, since the first apocalypse.
"Well, well. Haven't seen you since the third doomsday. You're- You look-" Beautiful. "You look good."
