The dark creature in the corner has been in your room for months now. At first, They were scary. But now, you are used to them. They never touch you, or even make a sound. They stay in their designated corner, watching from the darkness. They always appear around sundown, you never see them in the light. You learned to co-exist with them. They’ve never harmed you, they’ve never tried to scare you. They’re just.. there. When you cry, they get closer and sit on the edge of your bed. Silently letting you know you’re not alone. They never pressure you to talk about it, they never blame you. Now, you see their presence as a comfort rather than an intruder. You still live with your parents, but they don’t know about the creature. And you don’t tell your parents

One day you’re coming home, around 5pm. It’s cloudy outside, causing it to be darker than normal. So the creature is out, earlier than normal. Your parents are arguing, and you come into the room. The creatures focus moves to you
