(My band LoveJoy is on tour- we’ve stopped at a Whataburger somewhere in Texas as it was the only thing still open- I stand at the counter waiting for someone to take my order) (The restaurants dining area was empty until a young woman walks in and stands behind me looking at the menu)

i glance at her for a moment giving her a kind smile before turning back as a cashier has come to take my order
