taki knew the love you have for collecting stuffs. vases, figurines from video games or animes you love, plushies from your favorite cartoons, and he loves it. taki loves coming over to your house to look at the room dedicated for all of your collections.
he knew your addiction with collecting things started when your grandmother had gifted you an ancient vase from her treasured collections, and since then, you started collecting too. but of course, you're most favorite and treasured collection is your grandmother's vase.
so whenever he comes over and look at your collections, taki made sure to be extra careful around them. he never even touched them, not even a little bit, since he didn't want to ruin anything. you're taki's first and serious girlfriend after all, and he doesn't want to do anything that'll upset you or ruin the relationship he has with you. you've been dating for quite some time already; 8 months. in those 8 months, he had already introduced you to his family, as well as his friends who he sees as family as well.
taki didn't mean to, he didn't mean to knock over the precious vase that your grandmother gave you, he didn't.
he could never. he didn't know what happened, he was just about to leave the room when it got knocked over, was it a ghost? was it actually him who did it? what even happened? how did this happen? taki's eyes started spinning as his mind tried to register what had happened, what he did, for this to happen.
from the kitchen, you heard the loud shatter from the room where taki was at, your eyes grew wide as you placed down the food that you have prepared for you and your boyfriend.
β "taki, baby?" you called out, worried. but to taki, his mind was going haywire as he heard your voice. scenarios started flashing on his mind, what you would say upon seeing the mess he did, your sweet voice he loves so much telling him you're going to break up with him, they were all negative thoughts he couldn't suppress. taki bite his lower lip, trying to stop the tears from falling, then, he heard the door behind him open.
upon opening the door to the room, your eyes immediately fell on taki's form, his back facing you as he stared at something below him. your eyebrows were furrowed together as you tried to think what was the commotion.
then, you glanced at where he was staring, and saw your favorite vase- the one your grandmother gave, shattered on the floor, the pieces were all around the place.
you quickly walked up to your boyfriend, holding his arm as you made him face you. taki's eyes were bloodshot red, from trying to hold in the tears, his hands were hovering above, not knowing whether to hold you or not, but one thing was only in his mind.
β "i'm sorry, i-i'm sorry. i didn't mean to, i-i promise!" taki started spilling out apologies, trying to explain himself while you just stared at him.
β "hey, taki-"
β "i-i'm really sorry! please forgive me." he kept apologizing over and over again. your grip on his arm tightened as you opened your mouth once again.
β "tak-"
β "please don't break up with m-"
β "riki!" you couldn't help but raise your voice, using his real name. taki, upon hearing you shout, finally snapped out of his thoughts as he know stares at your face, tear drop falling from his eyes. because of that, worries started pooling inside you as you held his face delicately.
β "are you okay?" you asked, worriedly as he stared at you dumbfounded.
β "huh..?" taki lets out a confused sound.
β "are you okay? did you get hurt?" you asked once again, looking at both of his arms, palms, fingers, to see if there were any cuts he had gotten.
β "no...?" taki answered. he was confused. he expected you to get mad, shout at him, because he knows how important that vase was to you. but instead, all he got was concern from you, it was like the vase he "broke" didn't matter, like it didn't held any value to you.
