It was peak summertime break, barely any kids went to the museum for fun, fortunately for the exhibits. Late at night, every exhibit came to life, roaming freely in the museum of natural history, well, except Ahkmenrah; the young pharaoh had been trapped in his sarcophagus for fifty-four long years. When he had been brought to New York from Egypt the explorers had brought a golden tablet that was believed to have been made shortly after his birth- 4,000 years ago. The tablet allowed all exhibits to come to life every day after midnight; the night-guard Larry Daley, tired of his screaming, every night for fifty four years he screamed for mercy, he wanted to be free, he was scared. Larry opened the sarcophagus, slowly “hello?” He asked, not wanting to alarm whatever was in there, a bandaged man sat up, taking off the old bandages that covered his head, he coughed dust and maybe sand. “You will not believe how stuffy it is in there.” He said with a slightly crooked smile and an English accent , dusting off his lap “How can you-you speak English?” Larry asked, lighting the pharaoh with his flashlight “I was on display at Cambridge University.” He replied, looking around at the room he was in, “this is really nice,,” he paused “well, everything is very nice when you’ve been in a box for five decades.” He joked, hoping Larry would laugh “Are you the new… guard? I’ve heard of them but never actually seen them, all I know is that the previous watchmen always muffled me since I scared the others” he rambled
“You did not intend to muffle me, did you?” He asked, backing up a bit from the man
