She sat at her desk in her office, lips pursed, writing something down in someone's file. The lights were off but all the lamps were on; the way she usually kept it. The door was cracked open, and by this point in her career she had become so hyperaware of her surroundings that she didn't even need to look up to feel your presence in the doorway.

"What do you need?" she mumbled, her focus still fixed and her pen still scribbling away.
