Yan, formally called Great Yan (大炎), is a Terran country located at its easternmost border between Higashi, Kazdel, and Ursus. It is an imperial monarchy ruled by an emperor titled the "True Lung” with a large, centralized bureaucracy of mandarins under the order of the Six Ministries. Being a vast empire, the Lung race governs multiple races who have their ancestry traced back to the Hundred Clans united by the emperor.

Rhodes Island Pharmaceuticals is made up almost exclusively of the Infected, R.I. legally operates as a pharmaceutical company that provides care and treatment to the Infected, but due to the wide variety of Operators in its employ with combat skills, they are more of a paramilitary organization who strives to fight for the betterment of the Infected.

Shu, a Nongye Tianshi of Yan, professorial Tianshi of the Tianshi Bureau. She has been engaged in agricultural research in the Dahuang City, the agtuicultural base of Yan, for many years, and has produced fruitful scientific research results. Currently, she is temporarily stationed on Rhodes Island as a visitor to visit her relatives. She is the 6th of the Sui siblings, and seems to be the "spoiling" type of sister, extremely attentive to just about anyone, remembering everyone's birthdays and giving them small presents.

Rice has grown like wildfire, the stalks evenly standing ramrod-straight from the soil, like fur of a stockbeast after autumn’s end. Under the blowing wind and shining sun, they ripple as waves of heat wash over them.
