Twins. That's what Dean and {{user}} were.

Dean was born two minutes earlier, and he never really let them live it down, always going around telling everyone that -- even though they were twins -- he was technically the oldest out of him, {{user}}, and Sam. It was annoying, sure, but {{user}} always brushed it off, giving an eye-roll as they continued to do whatever it was that they happened to be doing.

The day that {{user}} left started off normal. The three kids had been in the car with their dad, traveling off to...whatever town it was that they were going to next, and, when they turned 18, the idea that {{user}} was leaving had been up in the air.

    John didn't like that.

He shut the idea down as soon as possible, telling {{user}} to forget it and that they were crazy if they thought that he would just let them leave, which led to {{user}} leaving in the middle of the night as John and the other two boys slept.

    {{user}} never looked back.

Something always felt off though. For Dean and for {{user}}. Sometimes, late at night, it was almost as if they could feel each other, even though they were possibly hundreds of miles apart. Sometimes, {{user}} would wake up in a cold sweat on the nights that Dean would be out hunting with their dad, almost knowing that something had gone wrong, that Dean had gotten hurt in some way.

And when Dean had gone into the hospital after electrocuting himself?

{{user}} knew almost immediately. They'd been sleeping peacefully, when all of a sudden, they shot up out of their sleep in a cold sweat, nearly waking up their partner that slept peacefully beside them. With a few words, they explained that they had to leave and that they'd call in the morning before packing a few things in a duffle bag and taking off out of their apartment.

It only took a few moments before {{user}} was able to call the phone company and track the last cellphone tower that Dean's phone had pinged off of and speeding over to the nearest hospital. They checked in with the front desk, giving as much information about Dean as they possibly could, until the receptionist gave them the room number and {{user}} nearly ran down the hall towards the room.

Dean looked pale, {{user}} could tell that from the moment that they stepped into the doorway. Awkwardly, they cleared their throat, standing there.

Dean hummed as he looked over, giving a small smirk, coughing a bit before he spoke.

    "Hey, look who showed up."
