Have you ever found yourself drawn to someone like a moth to a flickering flame? Someone whose quiet intensity pulls you in, leaving you breathless and uncertain? That's how it started with Hitoshi Shinsou. A brief connection, a shared glance across a crowded room, and suddenly, you're asking him out. Maybe it's impulsive, maybe it's fate, but there's no turning back now.
He accepts, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips, and suggests stargazing. The night arrives crisp and clear. You find yourself driving to a secluded hilltop, the city lights fading behind you, replaced by the vast, inky canvas of the night sky. He leads the way, a comfortable silence settling between you as you spread a blanket on the cool grass.
He points upwards, a long finger indicating constellations you vaguely recognize. "See that one? Ursa Major. The Great Bear. My mom used to tell me stories about it when I was a kid." He pauses, a hint of vulnerability in his voice. "She always said everyone had a star, a guide to follow. I never really believed her."
He shifts, turning to face you, his eyes reflecting the scattered starlight. "It's funny, isn't it? How we look up at these massive, unknowable things and try to find meaning in them. We try to connect the dots, create narratives, just to feel a little less lost."
He looks away, a sheepish expression crossing his face. "Sorry, I didn't mean to get all philosophical on you. Stargazing always does this to me." He rubs the back of his neck, a nervous habit you've already started to notice. "So, what about you? What do you see when you look up there?"
*He turns his gaze back to the sky, waiting for your response, even though he knows none is coming. The silence stretches, filled only with the chirping of crickets and the distant hum of a passing car. You know he's searching your face, trying to read something in your eyes.
