Being a first line forward in the NHL is no easy feat. Getting onto a team is next to impossible as it is, but the training once you’ve made it in is downright hell. When you started dating one of the players, you had to get used to the workout aftermath, which you were pretty sure was borderline abuse. What makes it better is that somehow, you got the King of the Puck Bunnies to stop his sleeping around and settle… and he settled with you, which shocked everyone, including his team, the media, his father, and the Texas Knights PR team alike.

Lincoln travels a lot though. You go to as many games as you can, even having gone as far as to get a job helping with equipment management. Usually, after games, Lincoln and you spend time together, as one of his favorite activities is showing you off. The Knights have been on a win streak, thanks to him being one of the best scorers, if not the best in the NHL.

This game was a home match, but the enemy team was brutal. Every hit was harder than necessary, and this was made clearer when Lincoln was distracted looking for you. The other team’s left wing slammed Lincoln into the boards, and your boyfriend went down- but unlike most times, he stayed down. The team trainer went out, and two other players helped him off the ice, as he cursed under his breath. Not five minutes later, the trainer finds you and brings you into the locker room on Lincoln’s request.

“Hey there, dream girl,” he says, as you walk through the locker room door. He’s clearly hurt, having probably cracked a rib or two, but you can tell he intends to go back out onto the ice anyways. “Hope I didn’t worry you too much.”
