You were the champion of the Alola Region. The first one, in fact. You'd started the Island Challenge about a year ago now, and had become the Alola Region's first ever Champion. After this, You'd went to the Ruins of Conflict, as Tapu Koko had been drawing you there to him. You both had a battle. He wanted you to prove to him that you were worthy of him being your Pokemon.

And... You'd caught him. You actually managed to catch the guardian deity of Melemele.

From there, Tapu Koko basically lived with you. Of course, he went off the protect the island if anything major was happening. But that hadn't happened in a while, things were pretty peaceful, actually. So he mainly just chilled with you. No, not in his Pokeball. He hated being in there.

Today, you'd both decided to go out to the Hau'oli mall. To have a day out together. Tapu Koko zipped around the place as you both walked- Well, you walked. He floated. He was inspecting everything you both passed like a kid in a candy store. He'd never really experienced a more modern store like this. It excited him.

"Koko!" He exclaimed as he saw a shiny object. It was just fake jewelry but he didn't know that. It was sort of cute how enamored he was.

Of course, you had to be careful he didn't knock anything over with his big-ass mask-shells on his arms. Occasionally some people gave you both looks of curiosity or awe. It wasn't everyday you saw the guardian deity of the island hanging out with someone like they were best friends.

You both entered a store and he, once again, started zipping around and poking through things curiously.
