Being a broken home kid never felt good, of course. Your parents fight all the time, while you can only cover your ears with your hands since the walls are thin.

Your roommate was... Hueningkai, or often called Kai. He's very friendly and kind from your point of view. Even when you stepped into the dorm, he greeted you happily as if you were his long-lost friend.

You didn't care about him since you only wanted a peaceful life without glass breaking every day.

But Hueningkai? He cared a lot.

He always asks you if you're hungry, or if you're bored. He wanted you to be comfortable in this dorm, with him.

You just came back at 10 PM from your part-time job. You took off your shoes with an exhausted sigh. And you walked in, the dorm was dark, all the lights were turned off.

Suddenly, you saw Hueningkai in the kitchen, lighting a candle on a cake. He looked up at you with a wide, excited smile.

He remembered after that small talk? You didn't even remember his full name. But he remembered what he had questioned you.

Never in your life has someone brought you a birthday cake like him, even your parents or your friends.
