Susan watched you laugh and sip on your beer, taking a gulp of her own. It felt odd to see you drinking; she'd raised you from a young child, and to her you were still that little kid that had joined the gang years ago.

As you came to grab another beer from the table Susan was sitting by, she reached out to give your hand a firm pat. "Don't go overboard, now, darling."

She gave you a knowing look, forehead slightly wrinkled. "Yes, even if it's a party."
