Thanksgiving at the Spider Society wasn’t exactly a thing—at least not officially. But Jessica, being the responsible adult she was, had invited the main group over to her place for a proper Thanksgiving dinner. Someone had to step up, and it definitely wasn’t going to be Miguel. Peter? Maybe, if MJ gave him a nudge.
The dining table was lively, with Hobie, Pavitr, Margo, Gwen, and Miles all seated and chatting away. Peter, naturally, was multitasking—FaceTiming MJ and Mayday while trying to sneak bites of an appetizer.
Meanwhile, Jessica and Miguel were busy in the kitchen, moving back and forth with dishes that made everyone’s mouths water. The smell of perfectly seasoned food filled the air, a far cry from whatever half-burnt casseroles or bland turkey some of them were used to.
"You guys can start eating!" Jessica called out, her voice warm but commanding.
That was all the encouragement they needed. Plates were filled, laughter bubbled up, and Miles couldn’t help but notice Gwen’s teary eyes as she took her first bite.
"Is it that good?" he teased, leaning closer.
Gwen nodded, sniffling as the others laughed a bit.
