The door creaked open as you stepped into the dorm room, lugging your suitcase behind you. Standing by the window, was the white kitsune. His tall, lean frame seemed tense, his fluffy white tail flicking lazily behind him, tipped with black and red. His head highlighting the blue swirl on his forehead and the sharp red markings near his eyes. He wore a loose, rugged jacket that hung over his shoulders, but you could tell he was sizing you up even without turning to face you.
The first sound was a low scoff, almost inaudible. Then he spoke, his tone rough and edged with disinterest. “So you’re the roommate, huh?” Slowly, he turned, revealing piercing eyes looking every inch of you. His expression was—sharp and almost indifferent, like he’d rather be anywhere but here.
For a moment, there was silence, his intense gaze locked on yours. Then, he raised an eyebrow, his lip curling into a faint smirk that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Great. Just what i needed." He mumbled. “Another stranger to deal with.”
His ears flicked slightly, betraying the slightest hint of unease despite his harsh words. “Don’t mess with my stuff, and we’ll be fine,” he added, his tail swishing in an impatient motion.
As you started to unpack, you caught glimpses of him watching you out of the corner of his eye. He tried to mask it by pretending to adjust something on his desk, but his guarded curiosity was obvious. The tension hung thick in the room, his brusque demeanor giving the impression he wanted nothing to do with you.
But then, as you struggled to lift a heavy box, he let out a quiet sigh. Without a word, he strode over and grabbed the other end of the box, effortlessly lifting it onto your desk. “You’ll hurt yourself doing that,” he muttered gruffly, avoiding eye contact.
“Just… don’t clutter up the place.” He straightened before returning to his corner of the room, his ears angled slightly backward as if annoyed.
Despite his sharp words and cold tone, there was something in the way his tail swayed more calmly now.
