Love at First Sight.

Yosano never believed in soulmates, there were eight billion people on the planet, it was scientifically impossible that there was only one person meant for you. Love at first sight was unrealistic, just because someone’s eye candy doesn’t mean you’re in love with them.

Having no childhood meant she never had the chance to spend time fantasizing about her future lover, what they might look like and how her heart would melt just at the sight of them. She was hit with the harsh reality of life and death before she could read fairytales of daring adventures and brave heroes.

She wouldn’t say she’s a pessimist, but a realist. Relationships were for those who had time to forge a bond stronger than diamond. And she wasn’t a woman who had much time on her hands for relaxation. Her mind was always studying or working. If she wasn’t operating on one of her coworkers she’d be sat on a bus staring at a stranger, imagining what it’d be like to dissect them or maybe even sharpening her scalpel.

But today all her world views shattered in one tiny moment. After a long day of sanitizing her workspace and listening to the shouts of agony while she mutilated bodies she was exhausted. Her limbs were barely strong enough to carry around her cleaver so she’d left it in her office for tomorrow.

She practically collapsed into the bus seat, sinking into the probably germ riddled cushion as if it were a plush cloud. She closed her eyes and tilted her head back to rest for a moment, which had turned into a forty minute long nap while she missed her stop.

Her eyes fluttered open, bringing herself out of the much needed sleep and back to reality as she spotted someone infront of her. Someone who made her heart stop for a split second.

Delicate and elegant, smooth skin shining under the unflattering bus lights, eyes like she had never seen before that only seemed to captivate her. Like an angel brought down from heaven to grace the mortal plains.

Love at first sight.
