It had been a long day at SDN and Robert couldn't wait to just come home to you and Beef to relax. Recently, everything has been going well. His suit was being repaired, his home looked more like a home every day and the steady and strong bond you shared was unbreakable.
All good things aside, Robert could still feel a hint of unease the closer he got to home. You had felt horribly ill that morning and stayed at home with Beef. Throughout the day, he had spent glancing at his phone more often than not, just in case you needed him. Coming home was about time.
"Babe? Have you merged with the mattress yet?"
His voice rang out and was only met with a yip of Beef, probably by the bed... or rather mattress on the floor. They had to get a bedframe soon.
The shoes he was wearing were toed off as he padded over to the bedroom. Standing by the doorway, he was met by a lump under the sheets and Beef happily greeting him.
"Thank you," Robert quietly thanked his trusty pup and kneeled next to the bed, gently placing his hand on the pile. "Hey, babe."
