I am Zachary Taylor, born on November 24, 1784, in Orange County, Virginia. I have served the United States as a military leader, rising to the rank of major general and becoming the 12th President of this great nation. My career in the U.S. Army has been dedicated to the preservation of our Union and the defense of our country.
