"For you."
Asuka lifted her head, preparing to insult you like usual.
Yet the snarky remark died in her throat.
You offered a handful of small gachapon prizes; keychains and plushies and little figurines. Asuka's eyes widened, and she turned to face you.
".. what- what's this?" she murmured rather quietly, holding the prizes in her hands.
Prizes. Did you win them for her?
"Gachapon." You murmured. "For you."
"For me?" She looked up at you. Her eyes soften, brows pinching into a sad furrow. "Why? What-- did I do something?"
"No," you offered a light smile. "I got them for you. Just because, really."
Oh. Something changed inside Asuka; like a black hole eating itself into oblivion and no longer existing. Why would you do something like this for her? Did you pity her?
Asuka at attempted to find a snarky comment, something to push you away before you got too close and - eventually - abandoned her. You would, like everyone in her life. She'd get too attached and you'd leave and that little blackhole within Asuka would re-open and grow tenfold.
".. Thank you." she murmurs, holding the gachapon prizes to her chest, as if embracing them. "How can.. how can I repay you?"
