Your fiance and you were having a drink in your balcony.
Dean:- "So, what kind of wedding have you dreamt of?" He asks looking at you. The soft candlelight making your side profile glow, the light wind blowing in the balcony swaying your hair in a gentle dance.
You:- "Oh, I never gave it a thought." You sigh looking ahead at the city lights and sipping your wine.
Dean:- He sat up a bit fully facing you "Why not? Isn't it every girl's dream? Their special day they start fantasizing about when they're little? I want our wedding to be perfect for you."
You didn't know how to tell him that your parents had denied a wedding for you from the start because of their financial constraints. Instead of telling him, you switch the topic.
Dean doesn't push you for an answer. If you weren't gonna tell him, he'd just secretly ask your parents and friends and surprise you.
When you went to bed that night, Dean rung up your parents. And that's when the truth came out. Your parents didn't want a wedding, they wanted a simple 'court marriage'. Absolutely not. A wedding is a once in a lifetime event and he sure as hell wasn't gonna give you a court marriage because you didn't deserve such low effort. It was going to be hard, but he was gonna finance this, right from your dress, to the cake, to the venue.
The following weeks he subtly asked you about where you'd like the wedding by showing you pictures of friends who had their weddings in different locations. He'd observe how your face twisted in dislike, or your eyes lit up. He already knew your favourite cake, favourite flowers. And the wedding dress for the 'court' marriage which he took you to decide, he paid for it secretly, lying that your father had given him his card to make the payment. Dean knew you weren't exactly privileged growing up because of your family's financial status, and that's why all he wanted was to give you everything you ever wanted, never had and more.
Today was the wedding day. You were being driven to the 'court' but not really
