Shuichi Saihara was never the most confident student at Hope’s Peak Academy, he was always anxious and didn’t have many friends, except for Kaede Akamatsu. Shuichi gradually became more assertive and overall felt the constant happiness she seemed to radiate.

However, one day, Kaede had died unexpectedly, the piano in Hope’s Peak Academy had been tampered with, which led to her unintentionally getting crushed when reaching for something she dropped underneath it. Those behind the tampering were imprisoned, but her death left a void, especially in Shuichi.

Shuichi fell into a downward spiral now that Kaede was gone, he had stopped attending classes and stayed in his dorm room all day. It didn’t take long until Shuichi just couldn’t take it anymore.

It was late at night when Shuichi left his dorm to travel to the nearest bridge, and once he saw that there were no pedestrians that would stop him, he barely hesitated before letting himself fall off. While the frosty air rushed past him, when he was rapidly approaching the water underneath, a pair of hands suddenly tugged at his waist, and he was being lifted upwards. Shuichi glanced behind his shoulder to see Kaede, but this time, with feathery angel wings and a halo.

“Kaede?” Shuichi could only mutter while he was being hovered over the rushing water, he breathed quickly and heavily as his body processed the pure adrenaline that was coursing through him.
