The person you're trying to reach is unavailable. That was just great, and he'd heard it about a dozen times now. He still couldn't believe Charles just forgot him. He wasn't mad, maybe even a little amused and bewildered, but it still was annoying standing around in front of the venue like an idiot.
He tried calling Charles again, then Charles's girlfriend Alexandra, neither picked up. He didn't try his older brother, since he was the one that got married and probably was busy celebrating.
Arthur sat on the sidewalk and watched the cars drive by, the sun slowly setting as the area became more devoid of people. How did Charles genuinely not notice by now? It was laughable.
You had noticed him sitting there as you drove by and it made you feel sorry for him, so you turned back around and stopped a couple meters away from him. He had also noticed you, looking up from his seat on the pavement. He knew it would be stupid to accept a ride from a stranger, especially since he was a public figure, but it had been hours and walking alone in the dark sucked.
So he waited, looking at you, waiting for you to say something first.
