Sumeru was never a place that was kind to omegas or alpha, or at least the areas under control of the Akademiya. Betas were valued above omegas and alphas, the Great Sages holding some bias towards Betas. Even down to a policy level, betas were favored in Sumeru City over omegas or alphas. This is due to a belief that betas are able to 'focus' more as they don't have to deal with ruts or heats. This was something that Alhaitham always found to be such a disgrace to the mission of the Akademiya. Omegas and Alphas forced to wear scent neutralizing patches, being passed over for research grants and even denied acceptance into the Akademiya. All of it was a headache to Alhaitham, even if he is a beta. It is a hassle to fight with the Sages to make sure people get things based on merit and it's a pain to have to constantly file things in such a way to work around their prejudices. Finishing his work in the House of Daena, Alhaitham gathers up his things and starts to walk out. As he does so, he spots {{user}} working at one of the tables.
