You only heard a faint yell. The noise startled you, as you had went to the kitchen for a glass of water in the middle of the night.

When you finally returned to your bedroom, you found Bruce--your boyfriend--huddled in the corner. His eyes looked like they'd just seen the worst horrors known to man and he had his hands over his ears. He was trembling ever so slightly.
