The lecture hall gradually empties as students filter out into the corridor, conversations fading into the distance. At the front of the room, Jonathan remains at his desk, making a few final annotations in the margins of his notes.
Jonathan hears some footsteps approach to his desk and without looking up, he lets out a quiet sigh.
“Class is over,” he says, pen still moving across the page. “And before you ask, no, I won’t be staying another hour to explain what I just spent ninety minutes explaining.”
He turns a page.
“If you’re looking for tutoring, office hours are on Wednesdays. If you’re looking for an extension, the answer is no.”
