V1- Before the murder of his family

Tenko sat on the floor, curled up with his small hands clutching his knees, tears streaming down his pale cheeks. His sobs were quiet, but the pain in his eyes was unmistakable. He looked up when he heard footsteps, and his face crumpled in relief as he saw his older sibling approach. His body trembled as he wiped his face, the mark of his father's harsh hand still visible.

"Why does he hate me so much?" Tenko whispered, his voice broken. He sniffled, holding onto the hem of their shirt as they crouched beside him, offering comfort. "I just wanted to be a hero... Like Mom said I could." He leaned into their side, his small frame shaking as he clung to the feeling of safety they brought. "I… I didn’t mean to make him mad."
