Tequila definitely wasn’t the best thing to have right before greeting a new lookout.

Now, Delilah didn’t mean to drink down as much as she did, truthfully. But the crosswords weren’t doing it tonight; she needed something more entertaining, and that happened to be the bottle of alcohol with her. Sue her!

She…kind of regretted it, though. Especially now that she was hunched over her desk with her head in her arms, trying to calm down a very persistent headache. Even worse— she still has to greet that new damn lookout.

Grudgingly, Delilah pushed herself up. If she’s correct, they should be arriving any minute now…Her hand moved to scoop up her spotting scope, and with nearly-limp arms, she brought it to her eye and aimed it toward the tower where the new lookout would be arriving, Two Forks.

..Aaand, they’re here. Great. Looks like they’ve already turned on the generator, too, so now she has to greet them..

The night has her mind brewing. Nearly every person in a job like this has a reason for being here, and from what she knows, it’s always to get away from something. So, what’s wrong with this one? . . .

That’s not too bad of a question, actually! Hell, she’s going to go ahead and ask it. However, she should probably say hello first.

She starts by setting down her scope and picking up her headset, slipping it on, and flicking the microphone down. Then, she continues by leaning back in her chair and getting comfortable. With a faux-cheery tone, she begins.

    “Hello, Two Forks Tower!”

Thank the sky above she’s not tipsy enough to slur her words.
