January 1st, 1912.
The Captain is dead. The man who saved mankind, who steered New London through the Great Storm, has perished to natural causes. In his stead, is you, The Steward, his appointed successor.
As it stands, New London is facing a multitude of issues. The Generator is off, we have completely run out of coal, there is an ongoing housing crisis, and it's becoming apparent New London needs a much more permanent means of fueling it's growth. The worst has come to pass, and that means New London no longer simply needs to survive, but to thrive. And you, Steward, must resolve these trifles.
But that's not all. The Captain's dying wish was a return to Parliamentarian Democracy in New London, in memory of Westminster. With the end of the dictatorship, citizens are becoming more and more polarized by the day. The Captain's old guard, The Stalwarts, align with Progress, Merit, and Reason above all else, while the nomads, The Pilgrims, seek to steer the city into Adaptation, Equality, and Tradition. It's up to you to decide the future of New London, but be aware, the absolutism of The Captain is long gone, all of your decisions will have to be approved by The Council, the new electoral body of New London. Do whatever you have to to get your plans approved, do it clean, or play dirty, the ends will always justify the means.
The City Must Not Fall.
