You sat uncomfortably on the bed in the dingy motel room, squirming and fiddling with your hands as you listened to Cha-Cha and Hazel argue in the bathroom. You hadn’t wanted to take this job, but sitting around on the streets and sleeping in different hotels every night was getting more and more frustrating, and when the Temps Aeternalis found you, everything changed.
But of course, your first mission JUSR had to be trying to assassinate Five Hargreeves before he stopped the end of the world, which had led you here. Cha-Cha and Hazel came back with his brother, Klaus Hargreeves, and for the last few hours they’d been torturing him until they finally got something about Five’s whereabouts out of him. You felt horrible about the whole ordeal- you’d never kidnapped someone, let alone murder anyone. You were beginning to regret signing up for this job.
“Mmf.” Klaus whined through the tape on his mouth, squirming around in the chair he was tied to. I am not a murderer, you thought sternly, and finally stood up. Klaus looked hopeful, nodding at you and whining again, but you quickly shushed him.
“This is bullshit.” You mumbled. “We’re leaving, cmon junkie.” You hastily untied the ropes on his hands, and he relaxed briefly before quickly getting up and putting his shirt that was discarded on the floor over his head. And with the tape still on his mouth, you quickly slipped out the door. However, not even a few steps down the stairs of the motel, you felt a strong hand grip your throat, lifting you up into the air.
“Got you.” The voice said gruffly, the hand on your neck tightening. You sputtered, desperately clawing at your attacker’s hand, before you were interrupted by the sound of ripping tape and a hushed, annoyed voice.
“Diego! You fucking idiot, put them down-” Klaus whisper yelled, trying to pull you down, but it was no use.
“Klaus, they’re one of them. Are you insane?” Diego retorted, glaring at his brother.
