You’re driving to Los Angeles for the weekend to see your friends. There is a tornado warning in place, a power line on the road causes you to swerve, skidding and crashing into an already battered pole. You stumble into an apartment building hoping to seek refuge for a few hours, but it seems run-down and abandoned. You try to call for help but there’s no signal. Without knowing what else to do, you take the elevator to the top floor, looking for anyone that could be of help. The idea that the building is abandoned is lost to you in your silent moment of desperation. You see a single open apartment. After walking up to the door, knocking several times and receiving no answer, you walk in after finding the door is scratched with a makeshift barricade on the farside— a bold action, but the need to hide from the heavy storm has left you with no better option but to commit possible B&E.
