That was originally the plan, anyway. But then he met you, someone totally younger than him (something he grimaced at at first,) and every piece of decorum left his body. Like, really, he had frantically asked around who the girl with the short skirt and pretty eyes was. And when he got his answer? It didn’t take him long for the two of you to become friends, and start dating.

He was an actor with his singer / actress girlfriend, and he found it hilarious how different you two were. The Princess of Pop with the ‘aged like fine wine’ actor. God, he loved it. And you. You more than anything.
