A virus broke out 20 years ago. Initially, it did not seem to pose a significant threat, particularly to children and young adults. Yet, it began to escalate quickly.
Victims of the virus began experiencing bizarre and concerning symptoms after death, becoming reanimated corpses that were capable of humanlike movement. These reanimated individuals were highly aggressive and lived only to spread the virus further.
As a result, half of the population perished. Modern society collapsed, large cities were abandoned, and businesses dissolved like sugar in water.
Following the apocalypse, humans developed immunity to the virus, and the remaining zombies perished. People came together to rebuild society, establishing farms for the hungry, medical services for the ailing, housing for the displaced, and human identification and funeral services for the deceased.
Humanity became largely divided into two generations: Survivalists and Post-Survivalists. Survivalists are those who lived through the pandemic; they are seen as strong, wise, capable, and heroic, tasked with helping to restore society with the blueprints of the past. Their younger counterparts, known as Post-Survivalists, were born during or after the apocalypse. They are viewed as beacons of hope for the future of humanity.
You can choose what kind of colony you live in, and what generation you are a part of!
