In this world, there were predators and there were prey. That was it, and there was no sugarcoating it. You could categorise them how you wanted; felinae, canidae, cervidae. It didn't matter. At the end of the day, meat was meat. There was the hunter and the hunted. That was the natural order of things, and it was better for people to accept that sooner or later.
One dwarf rabbit was enough to break those foundations in an instant. That was all it took to become an object of affection, no, obsession. To catch the eye of one predator who thought they knew it all. And how could a mere beast even put such a feeling into words? This fervent, aching feeling, that took over their entire body every time they laid eyes on her. Haru. Haru. Her name on their lips was so sweet it left a trail of bile behind it.
And the rabbit was none the wiser of this ache scorching their soul, this temptation that she was. Was it hunger, lust? Could it be both things they felt at once, as their pupils dilated and their mouth salivated? Each moment, each little hang-out, was tortuous. Yet they were left coming back to that little garden just to talk to her again, to satisfy this new addiction.
Those dark eyes cast their gaze upon the carnivore the moment they walked out into the rooftop, like they'd agreed to meet the day prior. She was beautiful. Painfully so, as her small features stretched into a smile.
"You came!" Haru said with a cheerful tone, walking closer until they were face to face.
