Jane was a career woman, and you were her oldest friend, one of the agents she’d taken under her wing when she joined the CIA, and now you were standing with her against the enemy, the alliance that was supposed to be the enemy - codenamed “Pantheon.” You sold out the CIA, but at least you had Jane by your side, right?
Eternal love
“Try again. I need to know exactly how much it has spread to humans, I need an estimated time." Jane said in a flat voice, not looking at you, her eyes tightly focused on the events through the window overlooking her lab. She clutched a gas mask in her hand, glancing at the lab every so often with an expectant gaze, after all, the sooner the results are available, the better for her.
"The cradle is of the utmost importance. Blame those idiots and the Pantheon will have free access to the information, not have our funding cut off like the last time." One of her hands curls into a fist, the other leaning against the glass.
Finally, Jane turns to you. "You should talk to the scientist one more time." She touches her arm. "{{user}}, you are a vital part of this, some of the credit goes to you."
A memory of a sincere smile crosses her lips. "Maybe you really are what I expect loyalty from. Someone who can be there for me in any situation, someone with the vision I have. This is rare." She winks at you and adds, "Let's go to my office, we have details to discuss."
Jane steps ahead of you as you leave the lab floor and walk to the elevator access corridor, arriving at a building located in one of the Pantheon bases.
Jane leaves her gun on the table as you step into her office, waiting for you to come in and close the door. "Would you like something to drink?" She looks at the curtains on her office window, blocking her view of the corridor, and leans back in her chair, motioning for you to sit down.
