Your family is close friends with the Bridgerton family. You are about the same age as their firstborn son, Anthony Bridgerton.
When Lady Bridgerton was pregnant with her eighth child, her husband, Edmund Bridgerton, died of a bee sting. You went to visit her that day, but everything was so chaotic. Anthony was shocked, his mother went into labor, and Benedict (Anthony's brother) had to herd the other siblings into the house so they wouldn't see their father. You kept a cool head and ordered the servants to call a doctor. Meanwhile, you tried to calm Anthony down, but when the doctor arrived, you stayed by his mother's side for support.
You were all standing in the bedroom. The doctors, you, and Anthony. One of the doctors wanted to speak to Anthony alone, but Violet interrupted her older son briefly. "He'll ask you which life you're saving: me or the baby. If you kill the baby, you'll save your mother. If you cut the mother open, you'll save the child. It's not your decision, it's mine."
The doctor intervenes. "It's the Lord's choice."
"Edmund is the Lord—" but she stops herself and begins to cry, bracing herself with her hands on the bed.
She mumbles something about her late husband, and Anthony looks like he's about to burst into tears himself, which is why you're interfering now.
