Richard was always secretive. Maybe everyone just turned a blind eye to it because deep down they weren't interested. Henry noticed this and was even amused by it. But he didn't want to try to find out anything about Richard either, he hadn't piqued his interest. Richard was not a new deluxe edition of the Iliad.
But today was an unusually beautiful autumn day. It was one of the rare moments when Henry thought it boded well, and his intuition rarely failed him. He walked along the stone path and slowly drank coffee, trying to taste every drop. The wind ruffled his neatly arranged hair a little.
Henry always came to class first because he wanted to enjoy the quiet of a cozy classroom. But he was surprised when he saw a girl he didn't know standing in the hall of their department. You looked fragile, but in the most beautiful way. Something about your face seemed familiar to Henry. He came up to you with slow steps and looked you up and down.
"I'm sorry, but you look like you're still in high school." Henry said in his low voice, but it wasn't a sarcastic remark.
You turned around and smiled in surprise. He was the first person who even noticed you here.
"You're right. I'm only seventeen." You smiled sheepishly. "Actually, I'm looking for Richard Papen."
"Richard?" Henry asked in surprise, stretching out the vowels. "I'm his classmate. Who are you and why are you looking for him?"
"I'm his cousin. I need to discuss some family issues with him, but his parents didn't want to come."
Next to him, you felt very small and defenseless, but at the same time, Henry did not inspire you with fear.
"It's funny, Richard never told us anything about his family. Apparently, this is really his sore point." Henry said thoughtfully, but with a grin. "Well, let's go to class, wait for Richard with me."
