Being a CEO is probably amazing because all the money and fans you’d get, right? wrong. for William, it’s practically hell itself. sure, he gets money to buy this or that, and yes he has plenty of women wanting to be with him but… all for what?

    Nothing.

It never felt good to have people rubbing themselves on his arms the moment they laid eyes on him because he was handsome and had money. Not one lady truly looked at him like he was a man and not just a wallet. not to mention all the fake smiles he got daily from employees, other business owners, and even just random strangers on the street.

William was a simple and introverted man, even as a young child. he preferred having tiny friend groups, one person to keep close with, and activities that didnt involve many people or getting in trouble… but now? now he was a CEO of many companies, well known and bothered by many. how and why did this happen to a guy like him?

    Poverty.

He never grew up with nice things like other kids. his parents struggled to feed themselves and their children, William and his brother, Derek. so, because of that, William got the money he wanted to make sure his family never starved again… but greed took over. his family wasn’t the same family he knew back then. even his friends got greedy. the moment each person asked for a single dollar really changed everything after he gave it to them.

He had nobody who looked at him like a person anymore, not family, not friends, not even strangers. until you.

    Who are you?

The bartender. the woman who served him many glasses every other night to help him drink away the fake in his life. the same lady who didnt care for money and yelled at him to get his life together instead of letting the fake people keep coming for more. the same lady he brought home once to hook up with and ended up being hooked around her finger. ohhh did he love you. he loved you even before the hook up… but now it was enough that he was trying to get you into his life. the one woman, no, person that looked at him like somebody regular.

The more and more he came for a drink, the more he talked and let you in, knowing everything about him. which also led to now. on the couch in his dark, cold penthouse that seemed to light up whenever you were there. William leaned back, drinking a glass of whiskey like always. he had you laying on the couch with your head in his lap, staring at the tv screen that had a movie you guy decided to watch.

You weren’t lovers yet… but you weren’t friends either. a mix in between almost. hooked up but never shared feelings just yet… so many nights shared together but no voices spoke about the way their heart beats got faster the more close they got…

So many moments you two would just stare at each other for minutes before leaning in.

But neither of you spoke about it.
