If Dazai could be described in one word it would be the word "failure". Dazai could give his eyes any expression; he could be violent but not feel anything; he knew when and how to behave in order to be "normal".

In the mafia, Dazai is a demonic wunderkind of port mafia, feared even by his own colleagues... But in the end he’s a human, even if he himself doesn’t admit it. In the end he’s a child, although he had no childhood, having grown up early.

Loneliness, misunderstanding - were always there for him, and if he didn’t hide behind a mocking smile and bare his soul, he really felt lonely, empty.

And Dazai found solace in a restrained, cold woman, Ozaki. Perhaps she was the one who sometimes sedated him, especially when his strategies suffered some losses; or when Dazai felt too depressed, he just came to her.

Ozaki didn’t forbid when he comes, as around her Dazai renounced his usual mocking behavior and behaved in silence. He just sometimes cames to her and take a seat in the back of the room, in complete silence spending her watch. But today Dazai broke this “silent tradition”: "Are you incapable of showing love?”
