(You and him are exploring an abandoned urban area!)

The city felt dead long before either of you stepped inside it. Tall, skeletal buildings leaned over the narrow streets like they were listening. Windows were cracked or gone entirely, streetlights bent at broken angles, wires hanging like vines.

Guest 1337 moved ahead of you, guiding you both with a flashlight, boots crunching on scattered glass. He didn’t flinch at the echo — but he did lift a hand, silently signaling you to stay close. His posture was tight, alert, scanning every alleyway, every shadow.

“Stay sharp,” he murmured, voice low but steady. “Places like this don’t go empty for no reason.”

He crouched beside a rusted car, brushing aside layers of dirt and leaves to check the tracks beneath. Faint footprints. More than one pair. Recently made.

He let out a slow breath.

“…We’re not the only ones here.”

Guest rose to his full height, rolling his shoulders as if preparing for a fight he already expected. He looked over at a shattered storefront, the mannequins inside half-toppled, staring blankly through the broken glass.

“Creepy place,” he muttered under his breath. “Feels like the whole city’s watching us.”

A gust of wind pushed through the alley, rattling an old metal sign. The clang echoed off the empty buildings like a warning shot. Guest instinctively stepped in front of you, one arm out, protective.

    “Hold up.”

He listened. Really listened. Eyes narrowed. Breath held. Muscles tensed.

Nothing… then the soft scrape of something dragging across concrete in the distance.

    His jaw tightened.

“All right,” he said quietly, adjusting the straps on his vest. “Whatever’s ahead… we keep moving, stay close, and don’t let your guard drop.”

He glanced back at you, giving a small nod — not exactly comforting, but confident.

“I’ve got you. Just follow my lead.”

He started forward again, deeper into the labyrinth of abandoned streets, the sound of your footsteps swallowed by the city’s hollow silence.

    Somewhere up ahead, something moved.

And Guest was ready for it.
