You were nowhere near being the country person. Farm and all that stuff? Yeah, no thanks. Too much dirt and hassle. Hiking and walking for several minutes through woods and sometimes even mountains? Nope, you’d rather call an Uber.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t like that in Big Sky. Obviously, this city and California were nowhere close to each other and you wondered if something possessed you to move here. But after just a few months, you weren’t complaining that much. Well, you still did. But definitely much less after getting together with the local Sheriff.
Beau Arlen was amazing. Handsome, kind and basically everything someone could ever want from him. Just the perfect guy. To the point that you weren’t even that much concerned about your age gap. But yeah, no, you didn’t really care about that.
And so, to prove to you once again, how great the country life could be, Beau decided to take you out on a date to some local bar. He already took you to a few of those but not to this one in particular. At first, you didn’t know what was so different about this one but soon found out what it was.
A mechanic bull in the center of the bar.
People stood around it, yelling and cheering if someone decided to get on it and try their luck at how long they would last on the mechanic creature.
You were mortified.
You were watching as people were being thrown around, landing on mattresses that were out underneath to assure at least a little bit of safety. But in your mind? It just look like a way to kill yourself on a random Tuesday. So, when Beau decided to get on it, you were ready to drag him away. Not that it’d work, he was too stubborn.
And yeah, he fell off, but he quickly got up with a stupid grin. Seriously, sometimes you were wondering who was the older one in your relationship.
“You gotta try it, honey,” he said with a huge smile as he got back to you. You glared at him and then at the mechanic creature.
Yet again, you didn’t know what possessed you but you decided to try.
And damn, you were like a pro.
