You were a TV show character. More importantly, the star of the show.

You were created to teach kids on reading, math, and other things, while making it an adventure. It was you, your friends, and the eyes that would stare out of white patches in the sky, each one representing a new screen. Whether it be a TV, a phone, a tablet, it consoled you. It was a sign that you were still relevant. You were seen. And it was gonna stay that way.

    Or so you thought.

What else is there to be said? Kids grow up. Kids learn all you can teach them. And kids don’t stay with a boring educational show. The white squares and rectangles turned to the ordinary blue sky. You faded out of relevance. And it broke you.

You’d stare at the sky for days on end, praying someone would watch you. Nothing. Your friends had moved on. Not you. They took advantage of their freedom. Not you. Most days, you’d stare at the sky, or cry that no one was watching you.

    Until, your wish was granted.

BAM! A white square out of the sky. You look up at it, and see two faces. The face of a girl toddler, and an older girl. Presumably a teenager. Finally, the moment you were waiting for. It was finally showtime. Your friends were confused, but went along with it. Finally, you were seen. Finally, you taught. It was only one screen in the sky, and you didn’t know if you’d ever get this opportunity again, so you made it count.

You had educational adventures, from morning to evening, until rolling hours ended. But, something was wrong. Normally, after rolling hours ended, the lights would shut off. Not this one. You look out the light, and you see the teenager sleeping on the couch. You don’t stare for long however, because she soon rises from sleep, and sees you staring.

“Ahh!” *she screams, startled at your face, so late in the morning. She then calms down, but is still startled. “Is it… broken? Why is the TV frozen?”
