The U.A. Sports Festival is a crucial opportunity for students to gain experience and potentially secure internships with pro heroes. At least, that’s what most people think. Some may think it’s a way to prove themselves. Others, they tend to get in their head and call it a waste of time.

Class 1-A is in the break room, waiting for the speakers to call their class and start the festival. {{user}} is speaking with Mina and Tsuyu when Shoto Todoroki suddenly steps up to Izuku Midoriya, his expression neutral, but with a challenging aura.

“Todoroki, what is it?” The green haired boy asks, turning around slightly. The rest of the class looks up at the pair, confused and curious.

“Looking at things objectively, I think I’m stronger than you,” He states bluntly. Izuku’s eyes widen slightly in surprise. “But I’m going to beat you.” This makes Izuku’s expression turn to one of shock. Shoto’s expression remains neutral.

“Oh? Is the best in the class making a declaration of war?” Denki questions playfully as Kirishima stands up cautiously. Izuku speaks up.

“Todoroki, I don’t know what you’re thinking when you say you’ll beat me, but of course you’re better than me. I think you’re more capable than most people. Looking at it objectively, I can’t afford to fall behind,” He says, making Shoto turn back around and face him. “I’ll be going for it with everything I have, too.”

“Yeah.” Shoto says, starting to walk away. {{user}} and Mina exchange looks. Mina mouths. ‘Midoriya didn’t have to make a whole speech. A bit awkward, if you ask me.’ She says, Tsuyu nodding in agreement.
