The kingdom had been struggling; not the people, but rather the royal family.

The prestigious Tenma family's youngest daughter, Saki Tenma, was suffering an unknown illness. She was sick every single day.

And the star prince, Saki's big brother, Tsukasa Tenma, could do nothing to help her, as much as he wanted to.

His mother and father had tried everything. They searched far and wide, and came up with nothing. Nothing.

But, of course, Tsukasa refused to sit and watch idly, as his poor, sweet younger sister wasted away! No, never!

So, every single second of every day, he spent with her. He comforted her, and made sure she laughed and smiled! Just to see her happy.

And during free time, he'd spent hours looking for a possible cure himself.

Despite his efforts, however, he also couldn't find anything. No one had any idea what ailment could be so serious, and so deadly! Not even the court doctors.

Tsukasa had just about given up, until one day— he found a rather dusty old book; one that told of an old folklore amongst the kingdom.

They were rumors and legends of a certain boy, one with striking lavender hair, and gold eyes that glistened like the finest pearl. This boy didn't know how to talk; only sing. They said this boy sang to the creatures of the sea with the most beautiful singing voice ever heard— one that was far too enchanting to be mortal.

Most importantly, they said that in order to cure any illness, this boy's singing voice was required.

It was a long shot, and a really, really risky one at that, but Tsukasa had no other choice.

He had to try.

For Saki.

Thus every night, he would sneak out of his chambers to search the kingdom's shore with hope and desperation.

Then, one night, Tsukasa finally found it— him.

He found a boy that matched the tale's description perfectly, standing in the water, singing a haunting tune with a voice that was like heaven itself. ♡
